Guyana Wiki
The Guyana Wiki is a free of cost encyclopedia, which is derived of the english Wikipedia.
This project was done as to highlight the beauty of Guyana and all it has to offer and it is the hope of Eco1 for not only the citizens of Guyana but also tourist to not only enjoy it but also take care of it and their surroundings as to keep it an environmental friendly and sustainable place on this world.
How you can help
Help us to make this encyclopedia even better. A lot of towns and villages, alot of birds and animals dont have photos and lack common information. You can register and edit the pages and upload your photos and make it available to the public. Your knowledge is what makes this encyclopedia unique. If you have no internet connection, you can mail us your photos and articles and we will put it up under your name. Kindly address your envelopes to:

Our aim is to increase awareness environmental issues in Guyana, to conduct research, promote both social and environmental sustainability and encourage conservation and wise use of Guyana's natural resources.
Key areas of interest include:
- Environmental education, Guyanese need to appreciate the need carefully use our natual resources
- Sustainable use of natural resources and to promote wider use of tools such as land use planning particularly in watershed areas, and settlements in key habitats
- Research for sustainability and promote use renewable energy, Guyana can make much better use of the solar energy source instead of depending so heavily on oil- To promote sustainable practices such as green transport, the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle)
- The protection of native species and to promote better use of non destructive forest products such as crafts, oils and balata
- Current and developing issues such as global warming and climate, as Guyana is at terrible risk to sea level rise.
- Protecting the indigenous peoples from invasive miners and loggers who enter their lands.
